Building a Demand Alliance
Already today, many international textile companies purchase the Cotton made in Africa raw material at world market prices as partners of the Demand Alliance we established. Our know-how in supply chain management enables us to support the companies in integrating sustainable cotton into their global value chains. Cotton made in Africa is further processed in all major textile production markets around the world as well as in some African countries to make clothing and home textiles. At the end of the textile chain, the companies pay a minor license fee to the initiative. Proceeds from license fees are invested in our work, such as the co-financing of agricultural training, standard verification, and cooperation projects in the cotton growing regions in Africa. Currently, around 700,000 smallholder farmers from Sub Saharan Africa participate in the program. Follow the link, if you want to get to know more about our current facts and figures.
